FAQ

What is Equis Financial?

Equis Financial is a premier insurance marketing organization for independent insurance agents and agency builders.

Why should I partner with Equis?

When you work with Equis, you enter into a proven system that is clearly defined. You can become a business owner: run your own company, make your own hours, and create the life you envisioned for yourself. Equis will give you a strong foundation and support, unlike any other Insurance Marketing Organization, to build a profitable business!

What does an agent do?

An agent provides middle-income America with protection for themselves, their families and their home in the form of life insurance. Agents provide a multitude of different products to their clients through Equis’ carrier partners. Agents are independent contractors, owning their own businesses, creating their schedules, and writing their own paycheck.

Are agents paid commission only?

Yes, agents are paid by commissions through our carrier partners on the products they sell. In addition, Equis also offers our agents and managers a monetary, monthly bonus for those who qualify.

How much can a new agent make?

An agent’s income potential is based on their activity level, placement rates, and ability to assist clients. The average policy pay out ranges from $700 – $1,000 in commission.

Can an agent earn a higher compensation?

Absolutely. Agents have the opportunity to earn a higher compensation each month up to 120% based on their production! Agency managers have the opportunity to earn a higher compensation every 2 months up to 140% (a compensation that surpasses the industry standard) based on their agency’s production!

Is an insurance license required to work with Equis Financial?

Yes. Agents must have, or obtain, a life insurance license for the state(s) in which they would like to write business.

How do I get my insurance license?

You can do all your state-required, pre-licensing studying online with Equis’ licensing partner, XCEL Solutions. The XCEL pre-licensing course will equip you with the information needed to pass your exam and familiarize you with your respective state’s Life and Health license regulations and requirements.

Are there any fees to join the Equis team?

No. At Equis, we are in the business of selling insurance. We view our agents as partners and want our agents to reach their full sales potential in a professional atmosphere. That is why we do not have any membership fees, special club fees, or contract promotion fees.

Equis also provides industry-leading technology, accessibility to leads, and training at no cost to our agents or managers.

Can I start part-time?

Yes! Many agents and managers start part-time before transitioning into a full-time career.

Who is going to train me?

You will receive training from numerous people. Your direct upline, regional manager, colleagues, and Equis executives will all help train you. Being an Equis agent gives you access to our Training Center that houses hundreds of training videos and documents, and step-by-step instructions for a successful career.

Are there opportunities for advancement into management?

Yes. The Equis System is designed to help facilitate growth and assist our agents in building their own agencies. In addition to the support of Equis’ leaders, our comprehensive training platform features education designed to help train and support agents who would like to build an agency of any size.

Do I have to build an agency?

No. Being “The Agent’s Company” means that we support agents and managers in whichever direction they would like to take their business. Equis has developed a system for both personal producers and agency builders to develop a profitable business of their own.

What is a lead?

A lead is generated when someone sends in a request by mail, phone, or internet search engine for services that Equis agents can provide. This system prevents agents from making cold calls and ensures they always have potential clients to contact!

How many leads does the average agent need?

There is no set quantity of leads that every agent needs. The number of leads you will need is dependent on your personal goals and how much money you need to make in a given period.

Is an Equis agent considered a W-2 employee or 1099 worker?

When you join Equis, you join as a 1099 independent contractor.
